I grew up in a family that respected God, and from a young age I learned about Him. I believed in God and wanted to live in a way that pleased Him.
When I was in school, I met a teacher who not only spoke about God, but also lived with peace, kindness and sincerity. Through his example, I began to understand that knowing God is not only about believing that He exists, but also about having a close and personal relationship with Him. I began reading God’s word for myself and learned He wants to be known as a loving Father. I came to understand Jesus is not only a prophet, but also the one God sent to be our Savior. Through Him, I experienced forgiveness and peace in my heart.
Since then, I have been learning how to listen more closely to God’s voice and follow His guidance in my life. I’ve come to believe that God speaks to us through His Spirit, placing things on our hearts. Not in a loud voice, but often in quite ways that draw us to love, serve and care for others. I want my actions to reflect His love by serving others and living in a way that honors him.
